2016 Trend Round UP

I can't believe 2016 is coming to an end! To celebrate, I'm rounding up some of my favorite trends from this past year that I think we'll be seeing more of in 2017.

1) Minimalist purses

A small minimalist cross-body is a wardrobe essential. Not only is the minimalist design trendy, but it also make the piece versatile, to be used with almost any outfit. Monokuro+ specializes in minimalist designs ranging from purses, like the one I'm sporting, to jewelry. While the exact purse I'm sporting is out of stock, their small Messenger Bag, in grey, is quite similar and just as versatile!

2) Statement Chokers

Throughout the past year or two, chokers have become increasingly popular. But more recently, its the glittery, beaded, and metallic chokers that are stealing the show. One of my favorite metallic chokers is the Crystal Beaded Choker, by Wrapped In Happiness! I've been getting a lot of use out of this guy and I'm not ashamed of it. I'll certainly be using this piece well into the new year.

3) Ankle straps + block heels

Ankle straps have always been in style, but lately brands are going with a multiple strap design in either a parallel or crossing fashion. And let me tell you, I couldn't be happier about this trend. Ankle straps make flats/pumps so much easier to walk it by preventing your heel from slipping out. I snagged these Kensie Begum Pumps at Lord & Taylor for only $36! Unfortunately, they're all sold out at Lord & Taylor but you can still purchase them on Amazon here.

Although I'm labeling them 2016 trends, I'm sure we'll be seeing more of them in the new year. I'm sporting all of these pieces together with an all-black outfit and a patterned trench coat for a casual NYE ensemble. Wishing everyone a fun and stylish New Year's Eve celebration!
