3 Must-Have Items For Your Next Beach Getaway

It’s finally June, which mean’s we are halfway through 2019. Can you believe it? Even though it’s officially summer for most, us dental students will be working through the summer. Although we do get some time off here and there for which I’ll be planning some beach getaways! I’m visiting Puerto Rico in August but before then, Bill and I will be making some weekend trips to the shore. So in today’s post I’m rounding up 3 stylish items that you need for your beach armamentarium.

1. The Beach Bag

Everyone knows you need a good bag to get you through a long day at the beach. This Wicker Tote, by French Baskets is both large and durable. It fits everything you need; towel, sunscreen, sunglasses etc. Not to mention it’s got that tropical vibe to it! I love that this tote has two sets of handles, one short and the other long. Sometimes I get tired of carrying bags on my shoulder so it helps to have the short handles to switch it up. Plus, this tote when unused is flat and can be easily packed in a suitcase. Lastly, the bag looks insanely cute with street clothing so you’ll be able to get a ton of use out of it for the summer! It’s made with great quality and is insanely affordable at only $41. You just can’t beat it!

2. The Cover Up

Isn’t it annoying to take off jean shorts and a tank top while you’re standing in sand? That’s why you need an easy-breasy-beautiful cover up like this one by Madame Babu. This Palm Springs Kimono is perfect for throwing over a bikini and wrapping it shut while you stroll to the beach or pool. It’s super light weight and features a flattering tropical pattern. I appreciate that the sleeves are full length because it’ll provide safety from the sun if needed. Like the wicker bag, this piece works well with casual summer apparel and at-home loungewear so you can really get your money’s worth out of this bad boy!

3. The Bikini

It’s pretty much self explanatory that a swimsuit is a “must-have” for the beach right? Well I’m here to tell you about an insanely comfortable bikini set! The Clara top and and the Camilla bottom by Wet Swimwear. The low-rise bottoms are stretchy and offer pretty much full coverage, which I prefer to the cheeky-cut. But the top is my favorite! It’s like the most comfortable bra ever. No clasps or ties so it’s easy to slip a t-shirt over it. As for sizing, I’m a medium in their bottoms and a small for their tops. Now, I haven’t had a chance to make it to the beach to photograph it yet, but as soon as I do, you’ll be the first to know!

Hope you all get to enjoy some beach time this summer!
