Maelove Skincare Review

When Maelove Skincare asked me to try out some of their products I was thrilled. What better time for me to work on taking care of my skin than during this quarantine? I’ve never had perfect skin. But things got even worse when I started dental school. The stress caused a flare up of rosacea on my cheeks which till this day hasn’t fully resolved. While it’s just a mild case, it does mean that I need to pay more attention to my skin than I used to. That’s why I’m excited to tell you about the new skincare routine I’ve started thanks to Maelove Skincare! Let’s start with the first product.

The Exfoliator - $23.95

The first part of my new skincare routine is using The Exfoliator to give my face a invigorating scrub. This cleansing treatment has a refreshing citrus scent. It does wonders buffing away dead skin cells! The rosacea on my skin typically gets quite dry and flaky. But after using this scrub, my cheeks feel incredibly smooth. The scrub is pretty concentrated so only a pea sized amount is needed for each use.

NIA 10 Calming Serum - $27.95

The NIA 10 Calming Serum is meant to be great for acne-prone skin or inflammatory skin conditions like rosacea and is meant to help with the redness. It goes on smoothly and doesn’t have much of a scent. I have noticed that my kin has been incredibly clear since I started using it. However, I haven’t noticed much of a difference with the redness of my rosacea. I’ve only been using it for two weeks though so I’ll keep you updated about the results! Also, one of the increadients, Niacinamide, can improve skin elasticity and help with wrinkles over the long run. So, I’m really looking forward to that!

Pure Argan Oil - $27.95

The Pure Argan Oil is a moisturizing dream! It goes on so smoothly and leaves my skin feeling buttery soft all day long. It’s single ingredient is Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, which is known to be packed with beneficial phyto-nutrients that nourish skin and hair. I can certainly attest to my skin feeling sufficiently nourished after using this. I also appreciate that it does not have a pungent aroma. I typically layer the Argan Oil on after I’ve let the NIA10 serum air dry.

Eye Enhancer - $27.95

The last thing I apply is the Eye Enhancer. As you’ve probably already discerned, this gel gets applied to the skin around your eyes. Its ingredient are meant to reduce puffiness and improve both texture and color of the skin. I haven’t noticed too much of a difference in the color, but I never really had any concern about that. On the other hand, I have definitely noticed an improvement in puffiness and texture!

The Sun Protector - $19.99

The Sun Protector is probably one of the most important parts of skincare for people with rosacea (when not in quarantine). The sun can cause or worsen a flare up so products with SPF are a must. This product protects the skin from UVA and UVB rays and is super light-weight. It’s perfect for layering under makeup (it actually works great as a make-up primer) or under other moisturizers. The scent is pleasant but faint and disappears after absorbing into the skin. And while most sunscreens leave the skin feeling greasy, this one leaves the skin feeling soft and airy!

Overall, I’ve had a great experience these past two weeks using the products that Maelove Skincare gifted me. I will be updating this blog post as I continue with this skincare routine.
