Casual Chic Pieces Under $50 - The Story of An Affordable Boutique

I love shopping small boutiques because you can find trendy apparel sold in smaller quantities, therefore making it more unique than the mass produced pieces at large corporate stores. What’s more is that the quality of these pieces are usually better too! Take for example this Harper Sweatshirt, sold by Trendy Moo. I fell in love with this piece from the start because of the sporty-chic, minimalist design. And when it arrived in the mail, I was even more impressed by the high quality of the material, especially considering it was priced at only $36. Although the Harper Sweatshirt I’m wearing is sold out, Trendy Moo has a bunch of other casual-chic tops to die for like the Berkley Top, the Reese Top, or the Abbie Top. As the title of this blog posts suggests, everything sold by this boutique is indeed under $50! Talk about affordable right? Aside from their cute apparel, Trendy Moo also offers a large selection of accessories, so if you’re searching for some stocking stuffer ideas I highly recommend checking out their collection of earrings and necklaces! Stay tuned for more gift ideas coming to BTFL soon.

The Best Of The Forever 21 Labor Day Sale

Screen Shot 2018-08-29 at 2.20.39 PM.png

Happy (almost) Labor Day! Can you believe that the sales have already started? The biggest sale yet is the one Forever 21 is hosting. Right now they are offering an extra 50% off all sale items, with code EXTRA50, which basically means everything is under $20. I used to think of Forever 21 as to high-school-ish, but after shopping there at the beginning of this summer (and absolutely loving the items) I'm back to being a Forever 21 supporter.  And so I've rounded up my absolute favorite pieces from their current sale. Hope you enjoy!

My Experience Buying Apparel On Amazon

Now that I have a Prime subscription, I've been ordering quite a lot on Amazon! Most recently, I've branched out and started ordering clothing from there too. There are many shops that use the Amazon platform and offer trendy apparel for affordable prices (and free shipping with a Prime membership). Take Milumia for example -- I just ordered their Waterfall Long Trench Coat and their Bishop Sleeve Ribbed Sweater. Both got delivered (for free, thank you Prime!) within a couple of days which is a lot faster than other online companies I've shopped with. As you can probably tell from comparing my photos to the ones on Amazon, both products are exactly as they are represented in the listings. The faux sued on the Waterfall Long Trench Coat is extremely soft and flexible. The coat is pretty light weight so I ordered a small (instead of an XS) to ensure that there would be space for me to wear a sweater underneath. The Bishop Sleeve Ribbed Sweater, which is also extremely soft and features a loose fit, is probably the most comfortable sweater I've ever owned. I've already worn this bad boy 4 times since receiving it ~10 days ago. So enough said there I think. Overall, my experience buying apparel through Amazon has been pretty great so far! Be sure to check out the rest of the Milumia collection as they offer a pretty big selection of apparel!

Designer Looks For Less - 4 Products Under $40

1. Classic Maxi Dress

The black, sleek, maxi dress is an elegant look that many designers include a variation of in their collections -- take this MIU MIU Silk Dress for example. But instead of spending over $1,000 on a dress, I'm sharing with you guys this Front Slit Maxi Dress which is only $34 (with code DA50) from Tobi, an affordable online shop that always has the latest fashion trends!

2. Long-sleeve Ribbed Turtleneck

Ribbed turtlenecks continue to be a popular fall item. With long sleeves and a slim fit design, the turtleneck can be both flattering and on trend. This Vince Long-Sleeve Turtleneck Sweater is everything we could ever want in a turtleneck, except that it's over $100. If you're trying to not break the bank with this purchase I highly suggest this H&M look-alike, which is only $9.99.

3. Faux Leather Metal Ring Bag

Handbags with metal ring detailing have taken the fashion industry by storm, with Chloé being one of the largest contributors to this trend. While some of these designer handbags can cost thousands of dollars, I found this incredibly stylish Faux Leather Metal Ring Crossbody, at Zaful, for only $20.99, a fraction of the cost! That being said, this purse is not made with real leather or to the same standards that a designer handbag would be made. But for the price, this handbag is more than worth it, I can assure you!

4. White Tennis Sneaker

Every fashionista has a white tennis shoe nowadays, and with good reason. They are trendy, comfortable, and go with just about everything. While I would love a pair of $600 Gucci kicks, the Adidas Stan Smith is a much more affordable option. What's more is that instead of purchasing a 7.5 women's shoe, I went with the identical "big kids" shoe in a size 5.5 instead, bringing the price down about $20!

And there you have it, 4 trendy products for under $40, because you doesn't love a good buy right?! More designer-dupes to come on BTFL, so stay tuned!
