Three Practical Bridesmaids Gifts

  1. Matching Robes

Congratulations on all you newly engaged couples out there! Having just been through the wedding planning experience, I am here to help you through your journey. Today’s blog post is specifically about practical gifts that you can get your bridesmaids. Gift giving can be hard, but I think what bridesmaids value most are things that help alleviate their out of pocket expenses associated with being in the bridal party.

Let’s start with something that your bridesmaids can use the morning of your wedding. Most brides want documentation of the morning hours where they get ready with their closest friends. Matching robes for you and your besties can be a cute way to elevate these photographs. I personally prefer simple robes without personalized embroidery. In my opinion, people are more likely to re-use the robes this way. I gifted these Mari Collective robes to my bridesmaids as part of their bridesmaid proposal boxes. I really love the way the satin rose hue photographed; I think it offers a very feminine and flirty vibe. And in the photos you can even see us getting use out of the personalized champagne flutes and hair ties that were included in the proposal boxes. Read more about my bridesmaid proposals here!

2. The Dresses

Minimizing the overall cost of being in a wedding is much appreciated by bridesmaids. So in that respect, buying their bridesmaids dresses for them as a gift is pretty darn good idea. The affordability of the gift may also be very important to a bride who is on a budget. If that’s the case, I highly recommend you check out Birdy Grey. This brand has a vast collection of bridesmaid dresses in varying styles and colors, all for under $100! My besties are wearing the following dress styles all in the chiffon taupe; Jules, Kira, Spence, Devin. The thing I appreciate most about Birdy Grey, aside from the affordability, is that they offer free material swatches that get sent straight to your doorstep. This makes deciding between dress colors a lot easier (especially when you’re as indecisive as I am).!

3. Coordinated Jackets

For any cold-weather wedding, I suggest getting coordinated jackets for the bridesmaids. Even if your plan is to have the professional photos taken without jackets, the photographer will likely take candid photographs throughout the day. Matching jackets can help ensure the esthetics of the candid photos do not get compromised. I purchased these T Tahari cream moto jackets for my besties at Nordstrom Rack. Although this jacket is sold out, here is a similar style also from Nordstrom Rack. What’s great about this gift is that your bridesmaids can re-use these jackets in the fall and spring with their regular wardrobe!

I hope this blog post has helped in your journey to find the perfect bridesmaid gift for your closest friends. As always, feel free to drop any questions you may have below!
