Oversized Origami or Adorable Tote? - The Bag That Catches Everyone's Eye

Remember in middle school when you’d fold up paper to make those origami fortune tellers? Well this folding tote bag kind of reminds me of that, in a more sophisticated way obviously! It folds up into a diamond shape when held by the short handles. Then it opens up into a large bucket tote and can be carried with the crossbody strap. Every time I wear this Saddle Brown Tote Bag, by Angela Valentine, it turns heads! So many people have stopped me to ask where it’s from and I’m more than happy to take a moment to talk the bag up! It’s made of crocodile embossed genuine leather and features natural suede lining. Aside from its interesting shape, it also features a tortoiseshell chain detail! I can’t get enough tortoiseshell these days. Plus, you can’t imagine how much it holds! There's no zipper, just a clasp that holds the long edges together so I suggest using a pouch to organize your small belongings. This bag has easily become the thing I most look forward to wearing in my wardrobe. But I’m also crushing on most of the Angela Valentine collection. My other favorites include the Gavi Shoulder Bag, the Loel Mini Crossbody, and the Mallory Top Handle Tote. Every single one are both trendy and unique! Angela Valentine has incredible customer service so if you have any questions feel free to shoot them a message.

4 Trends That Make Playing Dress Up Even More Fun

Summer is definitely my favorite time to play dress up! It's the season for pretty prints, bright colors, and showing off that tan! Today I'm sharing 4 of my favorite trends that are hot hot hot right now..

1. Polka Dots

Fun prints are a big thing come summer season. But I feel like polka dots just recently came out of no where. They weren't super popular the past few years but this season they made a huge comeback.  I hopped on the banwagon with this Loft "dress" -- it looks like a dress, but it's really a romper so I don't have to worry about Marilynn Monroe-ing people all over the street. Unfortunately, I can't find this exact piece online, but you can try your luck by visiting a Loft store near you! Alternatively, I'm linking up some awesome polka dot apparel, most of which is on sale, at the end of this bog post for you to easily shop!

2. Tassel Earrings

I've been seeing tassel earrings everywhere lately, and I was feeling a little left out to be honest. However, I'm always weary of purchasing earrings from just anywhere. For example, a few weeks ago I bought J.Crew earrings and the gold started to turn brown/pink within just 2 days of wearing them. So this time, I hit up my talented friend, Latisha of TISH Jewelry, who creates quality jewelry without the insane mark up. As soon as these Pink Silk Tassel Earrings came in the mail, it was love at first sight. The tassel is made with a silky soft silk and the gold plated metal has yet to turn color on me. Any chance I can get, I'm wearing these beauties. And how could I not! They add a pop of color that every summer outfit could use. In fact, if you follow along with my Insta Story, you may just see them make an appearance today. And if pink isn't your color, these earrings come in several different colors so be sure to check out the rest of her collection to find something that's the right fit for you!

3. The Bamboo Bag

Dudes, the bamboo bag is a must must must! I wore this all last summer, and this summer will be no different. This accessory somehow has the ability of making any ensemble look like it was hand picked by the world's most popular fashion blogger. And because it's made of bamboo wood, it screams summertime! I got mine from a small boutique, but after doing some research I think the best one for quality and price (based on the 500+ reviews) would have to be this one

4. Tiny Sunglasses

In the mid 2000's, enormous sunglasses were the only cool way to shade your eyes. If you didn't look bug-eyed, you weren't cool. But oh how the tables have turned! It's not like large sunglasses are completely a thing of the past, but tiny sunglasses are giving them a run for their money. The half frame shades I'm wearing in today's post are under $9 and are one of my go-to's for styling outfits on BTFL. If you're in the market, both Zaful and Forever 21 have an exentensive collection of trendy sunglasses!

2 Spring Handbags That Will Go With Everything + Last For Decades

1. The Sophia  Handbag

I'm so excited for the warm weather to finally arrive. Unfortunately, it's still quite cold here in Philadelphia but to prepare for spring, I'm featuring two handbags that will go with literally any spring outfit. The Sofia (above) and Camila (below), both by Alisn Lee, are my top handbag picks this season! It's clear that the white color and minimalist design makes these handbags about as versatile as you can get. While simple, these bags feature unique shapes and straps that give them spunk. Take for example the Sofia purse, which has a box design and a light pink/white reversible strap. Meanwhile, the Camila is a soft edged square with the cutest ruffle strap ever. And although they seem small, these purses fit all the essentials (A.K.A. my iPhone 8 Plus, a small wallet, and lip gloss). Lastly, I adore these handbags because of the impeccable quality with which they are made. Both bags are crafted with incredibly soft genuine embossed python leather and are lined with a durable linen material. Honestly, I have not used any other purse since receiving these beauties in the mail and I think that just about sums it all up!

An Autumn/Winter 2017 'It Girl' Look for Under $200

Every season there are a those staple pieces and distinct outfits that you see all the celebs and fashion bloggers wearing, otherwise known as an "It Girl" look. The mini skirt paired with over the knee (OTK) boots, a trendy sweater, and a petite purse just so happens to be one of them. I can't tell you how many times I've seen this look re-done on Instagram. But not everyone has the kind of money that celebs do, so I decided to take on the challenge of re-creating this outfit in the most affordable way possible (without sacrificing quality)! I gave myself a budget of $200, lets see how I did..

1.  The Mini Skirt

My Choice: Checkered Mini Skirt from Zaful -- $20.99

Mini skirts are back and I'm not mad about it. The more winter-friendly ones tend to be the popular plaid ones that are made of wool-blends. This very economical option from Zaful exceeded my expectations. The material is thick and the silver detailing was secure. Overall the skirt appears high-quality but without breaking the bank.

4. The OTK Boots

My choice: Black Over The Knee Boot from EGO Shoes -- $54.99

If you were wondering if OTK boots were coming back this winter, the answer is YES YES YES. I'm quite a fan of them, so I'm very happy that they're not going away any time soon. The thigh high design makes these boots the perfect footwear option for miniskirts during these next few cold months. My go to footwear brand lately has been EGO Shoes. They are always up to date on the latest trends. Their collection of OTK boots is extensive, but my favorite is the Harmony boot, which unfortunately just sold out, but I'm liking up my second favorite pair here.

3. The Trendy Sweater

My Choice: Lantern Sleeve Mock Neck Sweater from Zaful -- $17.49

If you need a trendy sweater for under $20, Zaful is my #1 recommendation. This Lantern Sleeve Mock Neck Sweater was exactly what I was looking for. It's cropped design and conservative neckline contrast well to the high-waist mini skirt design. My first concern with buying knitwear online is itchiness. Luckily, none of the Zaful sweaters I've order thus far have given me any trouble!

4. The Petite Purse

My Choice: Leather Bracelet Bag from B-Hive Creations -- $71.25 (with code "Priscilla" at checkout)

Small handbags are all the rage right now, especially ones with metal detailing. There are plenty such bags for under $30, but these generally aren't the best quality.  That's why my number one pick today is this Leather Bracelet Bag from B-Hive Creations. Although, it's the most pricy item on today's list, it's high-quality makes the purchase worthwhile. This ethically-sourced-genuine-leather handbag is actually inspired by the Chloé Nile bag, except it's a fraction of a cost! Seriously! A drop from $1,690 to $71.25? That's a no brainer! I had the opportunity to speak with Ina, the owner of B-Hive Creations, who is a strong advocate for affordable fashion. Like myself, she believes "that being stylish and loving fashion doesn't man you have to go broke," which is why she's created this line of reasonably-priced, high-quality handbags! I highly recommend you take a look at the rest of her collection, you won't be disappointed.

Okay so now it's time to add it all up. ($20.99 + $54.99 + $17.49 + $71.25 = $164.72) That's almost $40 under budget! I'm gonna call that a success. As always, if you have any questions or suggestions please leave a comment below. Happy shopping everyone!
